The project “RADIOPEACE” is a 24 month Erasmus Plus Building Youth project proposal coordinated by MV International (based in Italy) with the participation of 3 NGOs from Albania, Bulgaria and Kosovo.

The RADIOPEACE project, aligning with Erasmus+ Capacity Building objectives for youth, enhances non-formal learning for youth workers and students. Through music and movement, it promotes democratic values and intercultural dialogue, particularly targeting disadvantaged youth. It fosters the participation of smaller organizations and remote areas, bridging formal and non-formal education. By utilizing music and dance in non-formal education, the project educates youth on peace fragility, empowering them to combat hate speech and violence. Through cultural exploration, it encourages reflection on roots and fosters international cooperation among peers.

Taking into account the socioeconomic background in partner countries, as well as the needs of young people, youth workers, and participating organisations regarding specific capacities and tools for addressing the situation effectively, RADIOPEACE aims to achieve the following objectives through the devwlopment of RadioPeace Training format and Guide for youth workers, and implementation of international and local activities.

O1: Fostering peacebuilding, intercultural dialogue, respect for diversity and inclusion processes in Europe and the Western Balkans through Music and Dance.

O2: Raising awareness about the variety of the cultural assets and traditions of Europe and the Western Balkans area- with a particular focus on the performing heritage- as well as about its positive value in promoting mutual recognition, respectful interaction, and a positive sense of cultural identity among young people in the two regions.

Full title: ReAct Now: Engaging youth to act for social and climate justice

The impacts of climate crisis are striking harder on youth all over the world. The poorest people, with fewer chances of educational, social and economic opportunities, are also the ones more affected by these impacts and less empowered to raise their voice.

The recent conflict in the Middle East has exacerbated the disadvantages of youth in this area and once again stressed that access to the natural resources - land, water, agriculture and farming - is relevant for the local conflicts but are also key global issues.

While young people are one of the groups most affected by these global challenges, the potential of their role and the impact of their actions are currently limited for various reasons.

RAN project aims at increasing this potential, empowering youth associations in Italy, France, Germany – in Europe – and Israel, Jordan, Palestine – in MENA region, to engage young people to ReAct for climate and social justice. The expected results are: to increase the awareness among young people and youth associations about the links between climate justice and human rights; to improve the competences of youth associations in non-formal education and in youth engagement strategies; to improve the mutual understanding among youth workers from different Countries; to increase the awareness among European youth about the situation of youth in MENA countries.

24 youth leaders from the 6 involved Countries will be trained – through a training for trainers and a study visit - to engage other 120 youth activists at local level, through workshops and volunteering activities for the local communities. A toolkit with non-formal education methodologies and modules of training workshop will be created. A short documentary will be produced, analysing the thoughts and the emotions of youth activists on social and climate injustice. 
Dissemination events at local level and a final international event will spread the achieved results and the outputs among 70 youth associations.

Democracy, human rights and the rule of law are the fundamentals of the European project. In the last few years, our societies have undergone various challenges (the COVID-19 pandemic, armed conflicts and economic crisis). These processes have led to new Eurosceptic tensions, alienation and the spread of disinformation, which threatens our democracies. Today, young people have been exposed to many more threats than just a few years ago. They need support, encouragement and the correct tools to fully participate in the democratic life of their communities through their voices and opinions regarding the future of Europe.

Shine: Shaping the Future of Europe project aims to supply youth organisations and young people in the partner countries with tools, skills and attitudes to guarantee meaningful youth participation and dialogue with policymakers, ensure civic engagement of young people and provide an arena to have their voices heard by the local community, national state and European society.

The overall objective of this proposal is to build the capacity of youth organisations to use innovative tools and practices which foster community engagement of young people in public life. The consortium will achieve the project goals by creating new open resources and NFIL tools. The partners from Bulgaria, Germany, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro will exchange information and best practices from their countries and develop together educational resources – podcast series, training toolkit for youth workers and a board game on democracy and civic participation for young people. The partners will initiate and conduct capacity-building activities, local and international training, awareness campaigns, multiplier events and a final youth conference.

Full title: PlaNET Social Enterprise 4

Project PlaNET Social Enterprise 4.0 project aligns seamlessly with the European Union's goals, particularly its Youth Strategy. It aims to foster sustainable socio-economic development and enhance the well-being of youth organizations and individuals across Europe. Moreover, it seeks to extend benefits beyond EU borders by disseminating good practices to non-EU countries.

This project builds on past successes, evolving from local to transnational impact and earning recognition from Slovakian authorities for its innovation and cross-sectoral approach. PlaNET SOEN began as a grassroots effort addressing youth unemployment in a disadvantaged region, fostering youth empowerement, enagagement, activism and social enterprise. After 8 years this project expands these efforts across EU regions in six other EU nations, engaging young people with fewer opportunities, youth workers, and schools in entrepreneurship education. Building upon this foundation, the current phase of the project expands EU borders to encompass Albania, Kosovo, and Montenegro. Over the course of the next three years, 5 partner organizations and 6 associated partners will collaborate to implement project activities grounded in the principles of non-formal education.

By upscaling existing practices and leveraging partner expertise, the project aims to empower approximately 800 young individuals directly and 3000 indirectly from selected countries. Project activities, both online and offline, include game-based learning and mentorship programs, enhancing engagement and cultivating entrepreneurial capacities.

Intellectual outputs such as online training and immediate project impact measurement aim for a broader international impact. Additionally, a robust dissemination strategy, including a web page, conferences and workshops, aims to foster positive public perception and encourage broader participation, amplifying the project's impact and advancing the EU's objectives.

SPACE project

Full title: Youth initiatives for Public Spaces

In the Western Balkans, vulnerable neighborhoods are a stark reminder of the turbulent transition from socialism to capitalism and illustrate the disregard for legal controls resulting from years of repressive rule. In these settlements, young people are particularly at risk of poverty as they are deprived of adequate education and employment opportunities. Despite their strong presence, young residents are often excluded from planning and development processes as they lack the ability and motivation to advocate for their needs.

The project seeks to close this gap by developing digital tools and empowering the younger generation through urban capacity development programs. These initiatives aim to promote networking and engagement among youth and youth trainers, empowering them to address the deficits in their communities and contribute to their transformation. In line with the Green Agenda for the Western Balkans, the project aims to address the systemic problems of informal settlements and support their transformation.

The main objectives of the proposal include empowering young trainers and youth centers to influence the planning process, empowering local youth to contribute to the upgrading of settlements, and disseminating the project results to the wider society. By bringing together six organizations from the EU and the Western Balkans, the project aims to harness collective efforts for change. Over a period of 24 months, activities will range from research to training and community involvement.

Expected outputs include a comprehensive report on the status of vulnerable neighborhoods, capacity building of youth workers and the development of a digital training toolkit for youth empowerment. The project expects to involve at least 20 young people in urban development tools and reach 1,000 people through dissemination events, thereby fostering positive change.

STORY

Full title: THE STORY OF THE 1.5°C LIMIT - Solutions and storytelling of youth from Western Balkan

The main objective of  “THE STORY" project is to raise the capacity of youth and organizations that work with youth from the Western Balkan region, to understand and advocate for solutions to the environmental crisis, using civic education and arts, especially literature.
Our primary target group are youth and youth with fewer opportunities of Western Balkan, our secondary target group are youth workers and organizations working with youth in the region.

The specific objectives of the project are to prepare the two target groups for:

1. in-depth understanding of the climate crises through non-formal education
2. finding specific local solutions (with focus on local community solutions, zero waste systems, public advocacy methods, civic participation and art.)
3. communicating the findings from the activities to wider public through an artistic perspective - creative writing and climate fiction.

The chosen activities support the main objective and present the best examples of engaging youth through art and focus on solutions. The activities, through 5 work packages, include: a youth exchange, several workshops on art and creative writing for youth, different youth led ideas in Western Balkans, a training course and two study visits for staff and youth workers, among others. Two major outputs of the project are a Collection of climate fiction stories and poems (“Booklet”) written by youth, and an educational Manual "Stories for change", on how to use art and storytelling for social change for youth workers and youth organizations.

We aim to establish a cross-border collaboration on a topic of European interest, by giving space, mentorship and tools to youth to express themselves and find creative solutions to climate change on the local, national and regional levels. This will aslo offer a blueprint for similar art and activist based activities, improving overall quality and recognition of youth work in Europe.

"Stronger Together: Strengthening Youth Workers and Organisations for Displaced Youth Integration and Resilience" is a 36-month Erasmus+ capacity building project involving five partners from Ukraine, Turkey, Poland, Moldova, and Georgia. This initiative responds to the increasing number of displaced youth in European countries in recent years due to natural disasters and military conflicts, including the war against Ukraine.

The project's primary objective is to enhance the capabilities of youth workers and organisations working with displaced youth. This is to enable them to provide effective support, facilitate social integration, and promote active participation within communities. Key project activities include international mobilities for youth workers, representatives of youth organisations, and displaced youth, as well as local seminars in each country, multiplier and networking events, awareness campaigns, capacity building program for local youth organisations, and the publication of two handbooks, alongside a collection of Best Practices Bank. These efforts feature tailored training programmes for youth workers, with a specific focus on trauma-informed care and cross-cultural communication.

Furthermore, the project concentrates on developing and implementing organisational strategies that foster diversity, inclusion, and engagement of displaced youth. "Stronger Together" focuses on building capacity, cooperation, and networking among youth organisations, encouraging the exchange of best practices and innovative approaches to meet the needs of displaced youth populations.

Ultimately, the project seeks to establish a sustainable framework for supporting displaced youth, enhancing their resilience, integration, and sense of belonging within their communities. Through these collaborative efforts, the project aims to create a lasting impact on the lives of displaced youth and the organisations that work with them.

Full title: Youth Employability Skills

The Project’s overall objective is to contribute to employability enhancing youth work development in the project consortium member Neighbourhood East countries. It contributes to this objective by 1) strengthening capacities of these countries’ youth organizations’ youth workers (YWs) as of trainers and mentors of other youth workers in youth employability enhancing skills development (including entrepreneurial ones) and 2) by building a network of youth organizations, formal education institutions (e.g. VAT colleges), employment agencies and local municipalities with shared educational resources, and established format of policy dialogue and experience sharing.

To achieve these objectives, it builds capacities of the target YWs through series of training courses, builds the stakeholders network through the target YWs’ study tours for observing good practices, through policy dialogue workshops of the stakeholders ( youth organisations, VAT colleges, employment agencies, and municipalities), through developing the web platform for the network, publishing shared educational materials, and organising the final conference.

The project’s direct beneficiaries are 20 youth workers (and their sending organisations) trained as trainers, 50 of their trainee youth workers (during the training practices), and 50 of the stakeholder organisations’ representatives participating in the policy dialogue.

The project will produce outputs such as 3 training materials’ packages, 2 printed publications of educational materials for youth workers (translated in partner countries languages), 5 memoranda (1 conference, 4 stakeholders policy dialogue meetings), and 14 press releases.

The project’s expected results are built capacities of the target YWs and developed network of the stakeholders helping them and their sending youth organisations to spread youth employability enhancing youth work services with strong professional ties to formal education and job-market institutions.

Youth IMPACT

Full title: Youth Integration and Motivation for Positive Achievement and Capacity Transformation

The partnership implementing Youth IMPACT project includes the Croatian Blind Union, The Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired of Slovenia, the Union of the Blind of Montenegro, the Herceg-Bosna Union of the Blind and the Emphasys Center from Cyprus. Joint efforts and expertise in the area of working with visually impaired youth (VI youth) will result in achieving general objective - building capacities of organizations active in the field of youth, and VI youth themselves.

Youth IMPACT includes four main capacity-building activities. Building capacities of organizations working in the field of youth occurs at 2 levels. The micro level refers to strengthening capacities of PPs through an training and creation of “Bridging Differences Programme” Toolkit.

The macro level entails strengthening capacities of local VI organizations to include young people in their management and operational structures (knowledge transmission), as well as organizations working in the field of youth regarding correct approach and communication with VI people, so that they are better skilled to include VI youth in their programs (Awareness and Capacity Raising Campaign) (104 organizations in total for both levels).

The fourth building-capacity activity refers to VI youth and the implementation of two mobility program cycles. On the one hand, encouraging PPs with less experience (2 third not associated countries) to develop and implement youth mobility programs through testing BDP Toolkit, and on the other hand, raising capacities of 24 young VI people in all areas necessary to increase their employability, active participation and inclusion in the society. Visibility activities, including 5 initial and 1 final conference, as well as multiplier event and BDP EU-dimension event will contribute to the dissemination of the BDP Toolkit, as well as to a broader integration of the aforementioned in the future programmes and activities aimed at youth.

Full title: Youth for Democracy and Values

Projects will support active citizenship and political participation of youth in partner countries, coming from 3 different European regions. As well as, the project will foster the development of social and intercultural competencies, critical thinking, and soft and transversal skills. The focus will be on raising awareness of and understanding the European Union context, European identity, and the importance of active participation in decision-making processes at the local level, especially among youngsters.

To strengthen the connection between democracy and active citizenship and active participation in the decision-making process at the local level, and recognizing that each is mutually dependent on the other, is the most important result of this project. We will achieve it through the enhancement of democratic governance and the rule of law by fostering a culture of active citizenship, promoting civic education, and empowering individuals with knowledge about their rights and responsibilities as citizens. We hope this project will help improve the quality and accessibility of NFE in partner countries by collaborating with youth organizations, educational institutions, and decision-making bodies, and help bridge the gap in the existing system.

Research indicates that participation in different forms may be on the increase, for example, pressure groups, civic initiatives, consultative organs, and so on. These forms of participation are just as important to the effective functioning of democracy as voter turnout at elections, if not more so. In Europe as well, even in the more traditional democracies, "people power" appears to have found a new lease of life: students have protested in many countries against moves by governments to impose fees on education. Trade unions have brought people onto the streets to protest about the impact of economic cuts.

Full title: Open Innovation Youth Living Labs Network

The proposed project aims to enhance the capacity of organisations working with young people and create and test a new policy that combines approved good practices to tackle youth unemployment in an innovative and more focused way. We will combine two successful practices, namely the Living Labs and the Open Innovation to create and test a new model that can strengthen the skills of the young people and facilitate their integration to the labour market.

We will create a Youth Living Lab in each participating country (Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Jordan and Egypt) where youth people can build and experiment on open innovation processes and skills to solve real problems of local companies through an open innovation platform. The winners of the companies’ challenges will be rewarded an internship in the
company to implement the new solutions.

The overall objective of the Youth Living Lab project is to construct an evidence-based, replicable, market-driven model for long term unemployed people between 25-29 years old NEETs integration in local societies and workforce and increase their skills. The integration is augmented with the provision of services through a network of youth living labs that coordinates and supports the training of the target groups in open innovation and design thinking skills that complement their own skills and match the needs and trends of local economies in order to solve real challenges of local companies.

Youth Living Labs will be completely viable even after the implementation as all the new tools, the new services and the results will be accessible to all partners and interested parties for further exploitation.

Full title: PATHWAY TI YOUTH WORK

This project aims to transform and enhance youth work and non-formal education in Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya, countries challenged by socio-economic complexities and widespread misconceptions about non-formal education.

Acknowledging youth workers as pivotal changemakers, the project seeks to elevate their qualifications and competences through a comprehensive program. This includes the development of e-learning courses on non-formal education, capacity-building trainings on I. Non-Formal Education and II. Youth Mentoring and Coaching, creation of reference manuals on I. Non-Formal Education, II. Youth Work Good Practices, III. Youth Mentoring and Coaching, support for educational product design and practice training delivery, study visit for best practices, one-to-one mentoring to youth workers, design of new youth initiatives, evaluation seminar and practice reports, and community building for sustained impact.

The capacity building program is designed around the European Training Strategy's competences model, focusing on facilitating learning, program design, teamwork, and civic engagement, while also addressing other competences. It was conceived in response to needs expressed by youth workers in the region, aiming to foster quality learning, stimulate innovative activities, and ensure the active participation of young people. This effort aims to contribute to the European Youth Goals beyond Europe and the Youth Action Plan and promises to build a robust community of practice, enabling the replication of successful strategies at local and national levels.

During the project lifetime, 18 youth workers will be directly capacitated, and 90 youth workers will be trained by the directly trained ones, and about 500 young people will benefit from the practice training, new initiatives, and coaching sessions during the project. Finally, an excellence community of practice will be built and sustained to expand the impact of produced results and achieved outcomes.
